• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I'm building a couple drums for competition this year and I'm looking to use a similar intake design as the Gateways

Can anyone give me the intake and exhaust pipe diameter?

How tall is the heat shield?

Thanks

Go to udsparts.com and they sell the same intakes for $88. The exhaust pipe iirc is 2in and those can be bought at the udsparts.com website also.

From the looks of it, the Inlet Tubes are 1 1/2 in diameter. The exhaust is 2in but you can also do 1 1/2 inch.

Yea, not looking to buy anything. I've got pipe, just looking for the correct specs.

Understandable.

The specs are listed on the udsparts.com website also. So you have an idea of diameters etc.

Just looking at photos online, to me it looks like intake and exhaust are both 2 inch. Wish I had a retailer near by to go check out.

Can any owners verify?

I've seen drums made out of 1" pipe for intakes, just holes with magnets, etc. All it does is makes the cook learn how open your intake needs to be to cook at whatever temp they want to run. Don't overthink it.

I have 3 intakes on my drum that are 3/4in. I cook at 300-325 all the time. Having 2 intakes at 1 1/2 is plenty.

Just like Burnt says, don't over think it about how big the pipes are

10-4 Thanks for the info

I think you are missing my point though.. I want it to look right

Heat shield will run up to the top of your fire basket. If your not gonna put some high dollar paint job on it, it really isn't that big of a deal.
