• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

So, I'm re-gasketing the Backwoods Whole Hog and I'm wondering what you guys think works better:

1.) The gasket installed on the door (currently how it is installed)

2.) The gasket installed on the cabinet directly

3.) Gasket on both the door and the cabinet (like most eggs)

I've seen different cabinets/ovens do it either #1 or #2. As a side note, if it matters, is that it is parked outside, semi-exposed to the elements at the edge of a carport.

I'm interested in hearing your feedback :)

No clue how the gasket attaches. But I'd lean to the method the designers/builders came up with unless what you are seeing indicates they might have been smoking more than meat when they came up with it.

I definitely agree with what you are saying. I found several issues with the gaskets on mine. I have areas that are burned out, detached, hard and "crispy", and then a gasket that doesn't go up against anything. So what I'm finding is a hodgepodge of items that I need to make sure doesn't happen again...lol.
