Can you use a gas smoker or grill and have great meat:icon_blush:

Sure. I've done it and so have alot of other brethren. However, you get better meat, IMO, from a charcoal, lump, pellet, or wood smoker.

Thanks for the advise, I looked at a gas smoker and was not sure

I have a very nice stainless steel double insulated gas smoker(Great Outdoors Smokey Mountain from Sams) that I wanted and my wife bought me for Christmas about 5 years ago. I found this forum looking for advice and was won over to the charcoal side of bbq and of course the UDS thread is history.

Long story short, the gasser sits in the shed unused.

I love my propane smoker.. its a GOSM, BUT.. if i wasn't cheap i would switch to a charcoal one... just not laying out cash for a new one when mine works somewhat:)
