Our Son and Daughter in Law moved to the Ft Worth area earlier this year and we've been trying to get out to see them since the Summer. We were finally able to make the trip last week, planning on arriving Friday when the got off work. We pulled out Wed. morning with reservations at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi for the night. It's not Q but we'd found a little sandwich shop in Ocean Springs last year and planned on a late lunch for one of their PoBoys. We arrived at BB's PoBoys and seafood and it was packed! We ordered a shrimp and an oyster along with Cajun fries. The house made remoulade was delicious and the food was great. It's a must visit on our trip to the area.

We had a full day of travelling on Thursday so it was a day of fast food along the way. As we pulled into Austin there were flash flood and thunderstorm watches. The plan was to hit Franklin's early Friday morning but those plans changed. We woke up to rain with the warnings still active so we decided maybe it wasn't a good day to wait in line. We hung around the motel checking the weather and reading the Brethern reports on other Texas locations. Finally about 10 we rode to Franklin's only to find the line wrapped around the block and more rain coming. We rode by Stubb's but the skies were dark so we hit the road headed for Louie Mueller's!

When we drove past Louie Mueller's it looked like what a BBQ restaurant should. We parked and upon getting out of the car it smelled awesome. We were a little early but were disappointed that there was a sign on the door, until we realized it was from the previous day! There was a "junk" store next door so we killed a little time in there waiting for them to open. When we came back a few minutes before opening there were 12-15 people in line. When we left right at 12 there were people lined up out the door.

We ordered brisket, pork ribs, original sausage, beans and potato salad. The brisket was great. Tender, moist and a great flavor. The wife usually doesn't like brisket but declared it the best she'd ever had. The sausage was very good, juicy with a really good flavor. The pork ribs were OK, tender but not a lot of flavor. The sides were ok, but then we weren't there for the sides.

We had a great trip. Some good food, time with family (Even though their idea of good Q was a trip to Dickey's), and seeing some country we haven't seen.
