Full Packer Briskets in Illinois

It is getting closer and closer to competition time and I still do not have a source for full packer cut briskets in the 10-12 lb range here in Illinois. Do any of the fellow Illinois/Wisconsin teams want to share a source for brisket? All I can find are flats... Thanks so much!

Isn't there a Sam's club near where you are?

For some reason, My local Sam's doesn't have them. Do you have a Super Wally World (AKA The Evil Empire) near you, Seth? There's one in Dekalb and one in Lake Geneva (and more). They always have them. Search on the Walmart site for a store that has groceries and you'll find the closest one to you.

Same here in Racine, Sam's doesn't carry them but Wally World does. I asked at Sam's and he said they don't sell enough of them to make it worthwhile.

Not in your area, but close. Got 3 Super Wally's within a hundred miles from here. All carry packer cuts. And that is the only place I can get them.

i have to go to an actual meat market usually and end up paying big bucks
I have heard that the Super Walmarts carry them but dont have any of those near me

Wow, I suppose we're lucky in MoFo land... there's a packer brisket on every corner here. The things we take for granted! I'm definitely picking up the meat here to take along with us to Michigan for the Grand Rapids contest!

Thanks for all the responses! I will defiantly try to hunt down a Super Wal-Mart in the area, thanks for the tip! I am located in Woodstock IL, which is about 60 miles north of Chicago on the Illinois/Wisconsin border. Thanks guys!

Here's the list of COSTCO's in Illinois. They will have them. You just need to go up to the butcher shop window and tell them that you want an untrimmed brisket still in the cryo. The briskets in the display case have all been trimmed.

I don't know what they are doing, but I got cryo'd packers from COSTCO.
