• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

This might be the wrong spot for this however I do keep BBQ meat in it!!
What should the temp on the top shelf of the fridge be? The Mrs. got on a cleaning jag the other day an I think she must have moved the setting wheel.
Currently its running at 34* seems a little chilly to me. Just the two of us so don't have kids opening it every five minutes wondering if the food has moved by itself!!! ( I do remeber that though)

I keep mine adjusted to run at 40*. That's a good temp to brine at and it keeps my beer at a good temp:biggrin: .

I keep it at 36 - I have one tax deduction who feels the need to check on the placement regularly and her sister is almost tall enough to reach the door. May have to drop it a couple of more degrees soon.

34 to 38, but when the son brings his kids over the door never closes and it's probably 45. scary.

According to "How stuff works" (ok I had an extra 10 mins here at work)
ideal temps are between 35 and 38 deg. F.
However there is something special about 34* beer.....

37 degrees on top shelf.
29-30 in Meat Drawer at bottom of fridge.

Patio fridge (my fridge, where I keep the important stuff like beer and barbecue meat) 36*.

Kitchen fridge, which seams more interesting than television to my son, is anyone's guess. If you're ever at my house, don't drink the milk from said kitchen fridge. I don't.

34 in the beer fridge and 36 in the kitchen. The extra fridge in the garage is 38.

Alright, for 2 days this thread has intrigued me.

How the hell do you guys know what temp your fridge is at.

My fridge has 2 temps.

Cold, and the ice cream in the freezer is soft
Colder, and the ice cream in the freezer is hard.

Do I just have a really old fridge? The fridge section is set on 9, while the freezer is set on E.

LOL, I keep a little thermometer in mine. It is my garage fridge and I got it when I replaced it with a new one in my Mom's house cause she said it didn't work right. Seemed like she had screwed the controls all up and had it out of whack so I put it in my garage and stuck the thermometer in it to see if it worked ok and never have taken it out.

Whirlpool side by side. Freezer is on C. Refrigerator is on 3 1/2. Meat drawer slot is on cold. That equals 36* in Minnesota silly. Decoder ring set to W.

Pocket thermometer clipped to the 2nd shelf. Calibrate it in a glass of water and ice at 32*.
Like Kevin said, it can be difficult now that the freezer return is feed trough the fridge (on my side by side) so when you change the freezer it affects the fridge side one way or another.

My Kitchenaid has a digital readout of the fridge temp and the freezer temp. I keep the freezer at -10 degrees, and as I said the top shelf of the fridge is 37.
