Found an EGG!!!!!

We are staying in NW Iowa for Christmas with my family, and I went out today to walk through a hardware store that is going out of business. I get back to the front and see a BGE on the floor. Everything in the store is 30% off!!!!

It says medium for $519.95. However, I think it may be a large. (We'll measure.) Either way, it would be a heck of a deal. About $386 with tax. Has the place setter with it, too.

My wife is going to go over and look at it. We brought the Pacifica up here, so it will probably fit. If not, I'll leave it with one of my family here and get it with the truck another time.

Anyone have any thoughts and/or advice on this?

Large BGE for $386, a vehicle big enough to get it home, wife okays it and you're doing the business owner a favor. Seems like a win, win situation to me.

large, 18" diameter grid, 140 pounds

i paid $510 retail for my medium egg... just the egg. the two larges, i got at eggfests for around $650 each including the eggnest and other stuff.

i'd say buy, buy, buy! the lifetime waranty would be in effect since you are buying from a store. i'm not so sure the warranty is in effect when someone buys off CL...............

here's a large on the left and a medium on the right. you can see the difference in the eggnests, the large has an extra support for each leg....

make sure you get the dome thermometer, ceramic rain cap, duel function metal top, dvd instructional disc, fire box, fire ring, porcelain grid, three little green feets, cast iron charcoal grate, spark screen for bottom vent... some dealers try to sell all this stuff separately, but it all should come with the package. oh, and a hinge and bands to hold the dome on

Its not sitting on a stand, so I can't tell from that if its a L or M. But I still think its a Large. Wife just left to go look at it while I watch the boys as they sleep here in the hotel. She's going to measure and come back.

the firebox and fire ring are internal ceramic pieces and are both removable to make the egg lighter so you can lift it without busting a buckeye. i'll be surprised it that's a large, cause that's an incredible deal at the list price if it is.

make sure you get the operating manual cause the warranty card is in the back. there should be a dvd or vhs tape, but i wouldn't let that break the deal!

another difference is the large has two springs on the hinge while the medium only has one...........
