• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

When you guys make brisket Chili, using the flat only, do you cook as normal or pull it off at lower temp.
Never made brisket chili and have a 3# flat in the freezer just waiting till I get the chance. Will probably cook the flat on a Saturday and Chili on a Sunday.
Thanks in advance.

Never cooked one for chili. Chili is a leftover disposal round here.

I normally use our leftover competition brisket for chili and it comes out great, so I would cook it until it is probe tender. But that;s just me :-D

I use leftover brisket too.

Smoke to probe tender. No point to under-cooking, hoping the chili simmer will complete the job. It's not like under-cooking pasta to finish in a sauce.

Cook it eat it and use leftover brisket in chili, it turns out fantastic. Making chili right now with leftover chuck roast I smoked on Friday along with some bacon I smoked.
