• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I really wanted to make smashed burgers that Jeanie showed but the wind is too strong for the Blackstone so I decided to have a fish fry instead.

Headed out to the pond to see if anything was biting.

My favorite blonde tagged along in case I dropped one...

I was after crappie or bluegills, they aren't biting but the bass were.

Only kept a couple since it's just me the dog and cat eating tonight. I filleted them up and threw in the fridge while I go wild asparagus hunting. Hopefully the morels are up but I've yet to find any so doubt they will be on the menu. I would like to do blackened but will probably deep fat fry them unless the wind drops down.

I'll add the cook later, thanks for looking!

Dang... I'd give up onion smash burgers for fresh caught fish any day!!!
Great pond, fish and helper Norm. You've got it made! :becky:

You're starting things out first rate, I'd say! Morels are up around here (SW corner of WI) so look close, I bet you got em too! Had a mess last night, omelet with more this morning, and still a couple pounds to go! I'm making up for last year when I didn't get any!

Now that is one killer start to a fish fry! Talk about fresh:thumb:

I am soooooo jealous. Fish pond in the backyard. Fresh wild mushrooms in the woods. In SoCal the closest we can get to that is Whole Foods Market. Enjoy life!

Nice pond, fresh fried fish. Your having a good day Norm.

Thanks folks!

I live a half mile off the highway on a dead end road so it is very peaceful here. The pond had been worth every penny I spent on it. It's got tons of fish in it so I have friends over to let their kids go fishing. Watching them reel in one after the other is really fun!

Well the asparagus hunt was successful but not one darn morel. Only thing I found were some ticks, on me and my lab Ali.

Worked in the garden for a while but that was too much like work. Looks like the strawberry patch is really going to produce this year.

Time for a beer!

sounds like your having a fine day, your own fish stock:hail:

Oh my gawd!

Really! That bass, those asparagus! That blonde!

You're making this up. Incidentally, I know how good feral asparagus is, we used to forage it up along irrigation canals

Do you stock that yourself?!? That is the best! Ready for dinner? I'm headin out to the pond to catch it! Sweet!

Had some leftover batter from the fish and decided to use it up on a sweet onion.

Did up some frozen FF's and the fish in a new batter recipe I found on the internet.

My youngest son was working over at our office so I took half of it to him.

Sitting on the back deck enjoying a cranberry-vodka watching the horses graze.....

Wow sweet digs and one heck of a meal...

Dang Norm, a man after my own heart. Can't beat fresh fish. Wife and went out first time last week. I caught all but three, how many did you catch...three
I'm only about an hour or so south of you, and on occasion I have been known to sip vodka/cran.
