• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Got a wagyu brisket a while back and been in the freezer. Figured a nephew birthday party would be a good time for it. I thought it was a just a point, after opening and trimming found out it was a whole brisket. I was nervous always had a little trouble with brisket, now family was going to be over.

Got it trimmed up

Two hours in

Four hours in, let it go a little before I wrap

Time to wrap

And the picture you all been waiting for, the finished and sliced picture

Sorry I didn't get any finished or sliced pictures. It turned out great, except for the exposed part of the flat was slightly under. It was on the cool side of the pit. Everybody liked it and ate it up.
Thanks for looking

Man that's dangerous playing with a man's emotions like that. I'm glad it turned out well. What were you cooking it on? Just curious.

I can't see the finished brisket, but, it sure looked like it was on it's way before you wrapped

X2. However: No Pix = No Proof. :-P

Yeah, I know. I just wasn't able to get finished pics, too busy and other stuff.
Everything did turn out great except for the part of the flat not connected to the point. That was slightly under done due to that part being on the cooler side of the pit and lack of time.

sooooooo.........

was the extra cost worth it? wagyu turned out only great? that can be said of supposedly inferior ranks.

i cant understand spending so much more money on a piece of meat because its "wagyu". it seems this wagyu marketing scheme has been extremely successful.....

i expected heavenly or divine, not just great.

i hope it was money well spent and you werent duped.

Nope wasn't duped. At the time, the price of beef shorts ribs were pretty high here. The cost of beef short ribs and the wagyu brisket wasn't much difference. I figured pay a little more money for the better beef.

For describing how the wagyu brisket tasted, didn't feel like using them million dollar words.

I felt like I got my money's worth. Will I do it again? In the near future for a special occasion.

Thanks for sharing, looks like you nailed it to me!

I looked at your location and thought "that lucky farker"!

That is a really nice looking brisket. Anti-climactic w/o the finished pics!!
