I picked up a 40 pound bag of Nature-Glo lump from Berger Brothers in Chicago. I've never cooked with lump before. I believe it's rebranded Royal Oak.

Getting it started on the performer. Wow, it lights so much quicker than briquettes...just gotta turn the propane on for a couple minutes.

Dominick's advertised USDA Choice Top Sirloin on sale for $2.99/lb. At that price, I couldn't resist.

I've been wanting to purchase the CIG, but I couldn't afford it at this time. Instead, I purchased a Steven Raichlen Cast Iron Tuscan Grill from Amazon for like $30. I supported it over the lit charcoal with a couple bricks. The grate came with four legs, but I couldn't find them for this cook. Excuse the leftover briquettes from the other day.

After 5-10 minutes of warming up, I added a couple sirloin steaks. These grates provide some mean grill marks!

That was an awesome steak! This might be my new favorite grill-at-home steak. Definitely worth the price I paid.

Criticism welcomed.

That steak is killer lookin’ bro.
I like the brick idea, my dad uses them and say’s they help to retain heat with less coals and he turns out the BEST STEAKS…
