• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

First time Conecuh, thanks Brethren for the tip!

As the first snows of the season blew in to Michigan, we had the truck loaded and headed to Florida. Wore out the day after a straight through drive, we headed to the Bradenton Walmart for groceries and an open mind for dinner. Got the to meat case and saw this stuff. I remembered Tuscaloosa Q, Cowgirl, and other folks talking about Conecuh, so it was an easy choice. $4.88 per pound pack.

On a sausage roll with the roasted onions, our homemade sauerkraut and plain old yellow mustard. Just added some chips and cole slaw later. I normally bank up fish to take home in the spring. Pretty sure I'll be taking a few pounds of Conecuh sausage too. Really good stuff!!!

Well that looks delicious, Is it precooked?

Glad to hear you made the trip safely.

We're drooling out West. Followed your lead with the same basic setup, but used some regional jalapeño and beef sausages.

Enjoy the milder weather and a break in the action.

Thanks Marc. There was a day when I actually enjoyed winter. Now my winter motto is "Bubba don't do blizzards!". Beef sausage and jalapeño sounds perfect!

Long time Conecuh fan. Agreed-outstanding!! But they should put some kind of warning sign on the Interstate 65 as you're traveling through Evergreen Alabama from Montgomery to Mobile. The plant is right on the Interstate, it will make you lock up those breaks just like when you pass a true southern bbq joint on the back roads. So travelers beware.

Glad you got to try the conecuh... It is great..,outstanding in étouffée and gumbo!!!!!

Oh man yet another delicious treat on my list to try. The roll looks amazingly good.

Nice! I've never tried it but with all of the recommendations I'll have to.

I hear you about winters, I have a couple more years of them and then I'll find a warm spot to winter. Maybe if a friend gets a place in S Louisiana I'll hang out there... :becky:

Great stuff, Carried at many Wal-Mart, Costco, Winn Dixie in the southeast. I should have hauled some with me to family reunion in PA this summer. Stopped at a Costco in Winchester VA only to discover they did not carry it. Another "secret of the south" Roll Tide y'all

Conecuh smoked sausage is always in my freezer.
That and Savoie's andouille.
You never know when you might need some!

Oh man! That looks great! Paul brought a bunch of that to the Brethren Fleet Week event in Brooklyn. I must have eaten 3 lbs. of that stuff that day!

When we head to Mobile, there's always room in the cooler to bring back a few of the BIG packs of Conecuh. When we can find it locally (Brookshires and some Costco's - it always the 1lb pkgs- ain't enuff) Break it down into meal sized save and seal baggies and parcel it out until the next trip home. Love that stuff.
