• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Good lookin groceries Rod.
You got coleslaw in that middle bowl?

Pics of the cooker in action seem to be real popular around these parts, how about a couple??? Note: As I say that I realize that I've never posted a single pic on this forum, I'll change that on Monday when we're doing our Christmas cookin'... supposed to snow real good that day, my favorite weather to cook in...

Next time start with lump and switch over to sticks. The Bandera is a better stick burner.

Yep. Preheat wood chunks and the timing pattern of when to add more fuel just comes natural.

a load of lump or 2 to get to temps, then add a bear can size spilt log or 2 every 45-75 minutes.. Add lump when your coal bed needs replenishing.

Keep the fire on the side closest to the firebox and not so much towards the middle until the coal bed is really established.

Did U make a fire grate?

Yep - lump to start and then sticks - those banderas are pigs. The food looks great - better then what I had for supper....

Looks great Rodney. I'm impressed that you went for pulled pork on your first cook, too.

As Phil said, consider making a fire grate. It helps get more air to the fire, especially after some ash builds up. Also, you can make it longer than the basic 'dera grate.
