• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Man, I hate it when I'm so busy I can't get the BSKD fired up.

Well, finally got a weekend with some free time. I picked up a 10lb box of frozen riblets. I'd never tried these before, but has heard some good comments locally. Thawed 'em under running water, slathered in a mix of honey and yellow mustard, I wanted to add some sweetness. Then shook my personal rub mix on and tossed in a large bowl. After they where nice and coated, I put them in a cooler with blue ice. This morning I got up and fired up the BSKD, using a chimney of lump and K. I had to resort to a grocery store bundle of hardwood, which actually work out pretty good. Pieces were a little big, but the good charcoal bed kept everything going. Did 2 1/2:1:1, rested in the cooler for and hour and oh boy did they turn out good. Also slipped in 3 fatties, they turned out good too. Only have a couple of pics of the riblets. Well worth the $1.28/lb

Boy those look great! I hate to ask a dumb question, but what are "riblets",

Can't sleep, so what better to do than come here? Big Fark up- those look like a perfect late night snack:cry:

Ciret, would you mind sharing where you pick those tastey looking vittles up? That seems like a pretty good price, and would make for some good, cheap, tailgating eats at the - Brewers Games.

I see you live pretty darn close to me. I live just north of 27th and college.

Roy, we can buy the riblets here for under a dollar a pound. Just like the other poster said, they come from the trimming of a spare. It isn't the meatiest thing you can buy. From my experience there is more bone than meat. I had a nieghbor lady invite us over a few weeks ago for bbq ribs and this is what she made. Call me crazy but I just always cook my spares or BB's so I can chalk it up as practice.

And too busy to post :-D

Nice to see you on, Eric! Nice looking riblets. I can see some leftover ribs in my lunch future...
