• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Well actually getting the 20x42 pit next week. For the price of delivery, I'm going to take the wife and kiddo to Houston for 2 nights and hit a few attractions like the aqarium. Shipping 250 miles was about $200 more than I was willing to spend. So might as well have some fun with the cash instead of it all going to some 3rd party. But I thought $1.75/mile was a bit high. I cant wait.

Congrats. How are you geting it home?

I'm in TX, you know we all got trucks! :D

Driving my truck down & will rent a small U-Haul trailer w/ramp to strap it down to. Then again, I may just get it loaded in the back of the truck and worry about how it gets unloaded later.

You'll need 2 bungie cords

RE: Re: RE: Finally getting my Klose pit

Congrats, bro! You will love it!

I've been emailing a guy from another forum about tuning plates. He's sent me some good detailed pics and instructions. Even the spacing that he used on the same model pit. I plan on posting the pics for a good photo of plates. I raved about this site, and told him to come over and share his knowledge.

So first mod will be welding some angle iron below the grates to hold tuning plates. Plates will stay ajustable and removeable. And a good baffle to direct heat below plates. Getting a Klose charcoal basket also. Then I'll go from there.

Congrats! You will fall in love. The quality is regoddamndiculous.

Congrats on yer Klose and have a good trip!

Shipping Options

While I know you have your situation settled, I had a similiar challenge to get a Bandera to Boston. The closest I could get it was FL. Instead of the huge shipping costs, I found "uship.com" which is essentially an ebay of shipping. It cut my shipping cost by 50% from the lowest commcerial carrier.

RE: Shipping Options

Big cook off in Katy this weekend. Across the street from my favorite toy store (Bass Pro
Shop). Big contingent from TexasBBQRub.com will be there. Stop by and say howdy.

RE: Shipping Options

Congratulations!

I'd trailer it unless you have plenty of help to get it off the pickup! Get a utility trailer with a ramp and you've got it aced. :D

RE: Shipping Options

If you do put it in the pickup, and you need help unloading it, just bring it by my house. I'll help you get it off of the truck if you help me get it onto my deck!

:D :D :D

Congrats on the new pit! I'm jealous!
