• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Well, I finally did it! I won the internet yesterday. I was on Facebook and noticed someone had posted a few things for sale on the local Swap & Shop. I usually don't click on those because its normally junk. Yesterday I decided why not. And this sexy redhead caught my eye. As I was telling the wife about it someone else said they were interested in it. They must have backed out because it is mine for $25!!!! Now can someone tell me what year it is? Wood handles and all. I also think my neighbor is taking my black kettle for $25 so it will be a wash overall.

Update: I looked up the date code and it is a 1999 Mastertouch.

That's a good deal on a red Mastertouch that looks to be in pretty good condition.

Are you going to do a full blown restore on that? It's a worthy candidate. Imagine it with polished lid vent, polished legs and ash pan. It'd be pretty!

I don't think I'll go that far. It wouldn't stay looking that nice for long as I intend to use it all the time. My wife refused to let me even wash it.

I cooked on it today as well. 2 large chicken breasts, mushroom and Swiss cheese brats and some course ground wieners.

The neighbor just walked his new black 2003 Weber one touch gold home. He paid me $25 for it. I broke even. I also gave him the charcoal baskets that came with my new grill as I do not use them.

Nice Redhead! I would at least clean it up a little and put some cooking oil on the bare spots and heat it up it will keep it from rusting.

My wife is the best!!! I just got a text from her, she said, "I thought I found you another one, but not weber." I was like, what? She said, here's a pic. I said back, that is a weber (another red head!!) I assumed late 70's to early 80's. I said, go get it. She just sent me a picture of the vent. It is from between 72 and 77. Total score as it was free. It is clean up weekend in our neighborhood so everyone is dragging out there garbage. One man's garbage is another man's un-garbage.

Pictures of the deal. It needs some TLC, but it still looks like it can cook. It needs a some new wheels and a lid handle, but that's no big deal. Now I have 2 red heads!!!
Yes, that is a Weber, get it!! Check for rust through inside of it.

Looks serviceable to me!

Just as I suspected, older than my wife.
