• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

What in the world is this? I've watched Seinfeld, so I know that it's a food item.

I'm a naive country boy with no world travel experience. My son, the world traveler (courtesy of uncle sam) just returned from the middle east and expounded on this culinary delight.

His experience was undoubtedly from a (or more likely several) roadside stand with less than sparkling sanitary conditions. OK, I saw the pics.

I've done the wiki lookup and a few others. What I've learned is that "falafel" actually refers to a spiced, fried, ball made of fava beans and / or chickpeas. Usually served in a sandwich made with pita bread, with various toppings.

Harley's description was a fried egg with cucumber's and other toppings, served in pita bread.

I'm looking for a down to earth, forthright, been there done that description.

I know this is a reach for Qtalk, but what the heck.

I've not posted much lately, life got busy. Sorry about that.

Fried Flavorless Veggie Balls that cucumber-yogurt sauce or hot sauce can't help.

Don't ask me how I know.

That makes sense to me. Harley dislikes hot or spicy foods. May be the reason he liked them.

When you mentioned Fava beans, I immediately had visions of Hannibal Lecter, but my OL used to make Falafel years ago, but as much as I liked them, they never liked me.

That's not correct Mista.
A falafel is a stack of sheep steaks and a couple of other meats, threaded onto a big skewer kinda pressed in a big clump.
It is then stood on end on an electric rotisserie, and as it is cooked and served slices are cut off and placed into a pita pocket type bread with various veggies and sauces, kind of the greeks answer to the burrito.

That is no chit. Mrs t makes them from time to time along with a really good cucumber dip, which doesn't help them. So ..... I take various ground meats and make lamb balls, pig balls or beef balls which go really well with the cucumber dip.
