Extra cooking grates for my BSKD?

Anyone know where I can get 2 or 3 more cooking grates for my BSKD? I looked online at their store, and all they have is the charcoal grate (which is worthless to begin with), and the grate that goes over the charcoal for grilling. I need a couple more that go inside the cook chamber.

Any ideas?

Go you your local HD, or harware store and buy some expanded metal... you can cut it to size. It will outlast your smoker. and if you want more support... just slide the cut piece in on top of three of those "skewers" that it comes with.

I e-mailed the Brinkman site and they said you could call and order replacement grills for the BSKD from the phone order center. I never got around to it so I can't verify the service.

I can verify that it took me 5 months of being put off with one excuse or another before I told them to cancel my order:icon_pissed. They say that they don't sell extra racks to retailers, but I found some at Hawgeyes that were pretty darn close, maybe 1/4" narrow side to side & 1/2" long front to back. They work o.k. in my BSKD:grin:. I think that the ones from Hawgeyes were a little higher, maybe $1.00 or so, but I got them in a couple of days:!:. I was not happy with the Brinkman Customer Service, or lack thereof, however YMMV.
