Just moved to LV now and getting everything sorted. I made a road trip to PHX and thought I saw a place on the way down on the 93. Sure enough when I came back thru the same place it was there.
My second trip down to Tucson I told my wife we are stopping there so I can chat and get some food so I can taste their wares. I was only there for a short stop and it was well worth it. I ran in grabbed a brisket sandwich and 2 sodas, plus a pitstop for myself and jumped back in the car.
I was so excited to try out the place I was driving at a quick pace so I could eat at the restraunt but fate wasn't on my side. There was a head on collision of 2 cars which killed the 93 north and south bound for miles. We sat for about an hour so my excited state had depleted to almost nothing due to sitting and listening to the kids dvd. After traffic started moving I was stuck behind the guy who does 5 mph below the speed limit and it was a huge line of traffic both ways so no passing for a while. After a short trek at subsonic speeds, I hit the gas and passed so I could make it to Joe's before it closed or the meat was cold.
Right as I opened the door to my car the smell of smoked meat came in and I knew I was in the right spot. On the drive up, my wife poured on the sause and began to feed me while driving so I couldn't really sit and enjoy it. I guess I was sitting and enjoying it though while driving. The meat was a wonderful flavor of smoke and it made my tastebuds scream with pleasure. While eating it my wife was snacking on it herself and I think she ate more than I did so that is a good sign. The only complaint she had was the bbq sauce was cold. That's not really a valid complaint in my book but she has her opinion so I thought to include it.
As for the pick up of food, I ordered my stuff and ran to the head. After that was over, I came out and my food was already bagged and ready for me to take on out the door. Great service right there.
Maybe next time we come down I'll grab one of your knives. It looked very excellent and I think I talked the wife into wanting one also.
So if you are ever in Arizona and going to Las Vegas on the 93, you must stop in and enjoy some food yourself. It's well worth it.
