• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Dumb question

You can find about 200 different explanations for where it comes from. I don't know that there is a diffinitive answer.

I'll go with any of the three or four originas in "Texas Legends."

I'll agree the name came from Barbacoa, an indian name for meat cooked over an open fire. I have also heard that "American" Barbecue as we know it now originated with slavery and cowboys out on cattle drives. You could probably find 100 different variations but I sure am glad we have it!!
