• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I didn't get home until late Monday night so I haven't had a chance to read the forum tell now. It was a good contest with some very good teams. The organizers did a good job and I am sure things will be even better next year. I got too meet a lot of teams, which I don't get to do often.

My tent took a tumble as I was making up my brisket turn in, I just keep on making my box and didn't even look up. People kept running over and asking if I wanted them to help me pick it up, I just kept saying thank you no, I'll take care of it after I turn in my box. Finely a couple guys couldn't take it any longer and came over and set it upright, I don't know if anyone else had a problem with their tents.

All the smack talk crowd were a hoot, good to meet all of you. They will have to come up with something different next year for the peoples choice, I set out all my leftovers and except for a small hand full of pork, it was gone in no time and I had a lot of food. From some of the comments they were making I sure wished some of them had been judging.

The Brethren were present and I believe I was the only one cooking on a Spicewine, the crowd loved it and there were a lot of questions ask about it and a lot of photos were taken of it.

My cook went well until I cranked up the heat around 375/400 to cook the peoples choice whole pork tenderloin. When it was done I had a heck of a time getting the temp back down to put my ribs and chicken on I guess because it is so well insulated, it was touch and go there for a time.

Funniest thing was at the awards, when Quau got mobbed by a couple senior lady citizens copping a feel, on his way up to get his GC award. thought for a moment they were going to take him to the ground and have their way with him. ;-)

10th place with a 3rd in chicken don't sound too bad to me. Congratulations!

It's unbelievable how many people just stop at our site to ask questions about our Large Spicewine. You have to get us some brochures or business cards Jay.

Not real up set at my scores but of course I would like to have done better. The one thing I am a little put out with is the fact they gave out printed certificates for everyone down to 10th and trophies to GC and RGC. I was looking forward to adding a different color level ribbon to my collection of brown or even a small trophy but that will come.

Ya!! So we can get your picture on the Spicewine Hall of fame page on my web site!!!

Damn Dave, not too shabby in that field of teams! Impressive! I learned my lesson in my first comp. Thought it would be funny to put a spotlight on my Spicewine after dark as folks walked to and from the Rick Springfield concert and car show. Oops! Won't make THAT mistake again! Spent all evening answering questions instead of drinking the Meatheads and Andy under the table!
