• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Just saw that a fancy UDS just received patented, who'd thought.
About 5 yrs ago I built my first UDS and my kids and friends poked fun at it, all in all it was always some of the best Q they've eaten and it came off a fancy trash can.
I know a lot of people have smug comments about drum smokers, because they can be built on the cheap, but if most would take time to learn how the cook, there may become a shortage of steel barrels in future.
I haven't named the company that patented there drum cooker but I read that it started out as a UDS and they improved on a few items and they gave it a fancy paint job, now one of the most winning cookers in the field.

Love my UDS... just finished my second one. The Q is great, easy to maintain temps... you cant go wrong in my opinion.

Is it Bob C Que's favorite cooker? Or is it a newer patent? That one was patented back in 2013.

It was Hunsaker or Gateway...forgot which had patent pending.

I love both of mine. Nothing fancy or anything just good to use. One is an old leaky bastid that I built a few years ago and the other is my Big Poppa Barrel smoker kit. Both have their very own personalities and uses.
