Drum Height ?

What does one look for in a barrel as far as height goes ?

I have heard mention of 38".

I found some shorter ones. Should I hold out for a taller barrel ?

To answer your question directly, I think the most important measurement would be to mount the cooking grate at 34" from the ground.

Only if you feel you need more cooking grates. I have two 38" and a 35" and can't tell any difference between them.

Those taller drums are extremely hard to find. If you did find one bet it would be costly.

Cliff: A 3" difference don't matter. Besides, you can allways make an extension ring. As far as buying one off ebay; I hold out for getting one locally. Shipping will be prohibitive in most cases.
