• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Does anyone remember what thread it was on using a product put out by the 3M Company, being used as a door gasket. I remember that the person that wrote the post had bought it at Graingers. I am trying to do the door mod and would like to try his idea, but I can not remember what the material was that he used.

Yeah, I was not successful in getting anything at my local Home Depot last night. I may just order this stuff off the internet to save me the hassle of even trying to find it.

Door gasket

I didn't use the3M brand after looking at the MSDS sheets. The 4MM47 from Grainger is OK and non toxic. It does expand after you heat it but you can trim it off with a utility knife. I also sealed my fire box lid and it seems to help. I don't have any burn rates yet. Don't buy the Wrap strip it's to thick.

So if I go to Graingers and ask for 4MM47, they will know what I am talking about?

Thanks MrSmoker, I appreciate the information. Going to get a couple mods taken care of this weekend, door gasket and drain valve.

I responded to your PM. By the looks of it you already have what you need. If you need it I have isted both products, and the website in that PM.

I will be knocking this door gasket mod out this Saturday or when I can get the first season burn in.

Tonight I will get the wheel mod complete providing Home Depot has the hitch pins.

BTW - I wonder if I should do this mod after my first initial burn (the seasoning burn). I am thinking rubbing down the whole dera with some form of grease will just get in the way of doing the door gasket mod.

What is your guys thoughts on that?
