xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.
Just wondering if getting the scraps from a saw mill is an option? I'm sure most places would have oak wood scraps. Does anyone have experience with this and know how the pricing might work?
I get almost all of my smoking wood from sawmills. I have a WSM so it doesn't take a lot. I use trim blocks mostly. I get mine for free but I also build and service sawmills for a living. Most hardwood mills will give anybody some scraps. If they charge anything it is minimal. Check with Davie Ashley Sawmill in Elora, TN. They are not far from Franklin. They saw mostly oak but they do saw hickory and maple some too.
I'd love to. There was a guy on here Cpl years ago who got free end cuts from a cabinet shop or flooring shop - raw plank oak end cuts. He cut them for chunks and had been using them for a few years.
