• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Do you wrap cryovac packs when freezing?

I just bought a case of cryovac'd butts. I'm gonna cook 2 butts/1 cryovac tomorrow (smokin' in the snow mod ). So, when I freeze the other cryovacs, should I wrap, or foodsaver, or just throw in the freezer?
Inquiring minds want to know . . .

I've never noticed any problems with just having the cryovac only meat in the freezer. If I have some laying around, I'll usually throw them in a few plastic shopping bags as well. I don't own a foodsaver yet so I can't comment, but I'm sure that's a good option if available.

Just make sure there are no holes in the cryovac.

Enjoy the cook tomorrow !

I freeze the cryos all the time. Not ever a problem. When I split the pack to cook one of the butts, I completely remove the cryo and rewrap the others in heavy duty aluminum foil.

Thanks, that's what I thought.

Weather tomorrow is light snow and clouds in AM, clearing slightly in PM. As long as it doesn't get windy and rain I'll be OK.
