Seems like I have cooked butts every weekend for the past month. I love it after it comes off of the smoker and eat myself silly, but after it sits in the fridge for a while, I just don't even want to look at it. Anyone else get this way? I cook ribs to offset the monotony, but I get sick of them too.

Maybe I need to practice brisket some...yeah, brisket.

I get sick of the same-o-same-o for sure which is why i try to break up the monotony of certain dishes including pulled pork. The only meat i rarely get tired of is chicken largely because of the variety of ways to cook it and it tends to me a "light" meat to me.

You could always take the pork and make chili, nachos, etc. for a change of flavor.

every now and then take a break for a week and that craving comes back but I all ways mix it between beef and pork rotation . try you some beef short ribs and you will be hooked like a crack head , lol .

I get sick of chicken too. I do cook breasts sometimes to make my own chicken salad which is to die for...but Ill get sick of that after a few days of munching on it.

That's why I do wings of different varieties, chicken cordon bleu, skinless boneless thighs, regular thighs, quarters, roti bird or roti parts...parts grilled etc... Definitely plenty of variety. Oh and yes a good chicken salad is deeeelish!

I like pork because I treat it like a blank slate, it can take on so many different flavor profiles, much like chicken you're limited by your imagination.

I used to cook the same way time after time...... The I realized I can actually make things different. You can use different Injections to change flavor profiles, pull early and thinly slice to make Italian pork sandwiches with long hots and gravy, or sometimes I'll finish on a hot grill to caramelize the outer bark without without burning it. Even different sauces and marinades in the finishing process can change the flavors. I'm not a big fan of cooking with bbq sauce, but cooking slices of a pork butt or pork steaks in sauce makes an awesome dish.

It's like any other method of cooking, you can change things to make the dish different.

Nope

Pork chops, grilled loin, meatloaf, pork steak, pork burnt ends, shredded pork tacos, chili Verde, Korean bbq'd pork.

Gettin sick of pork is like gettin sick of beer:shock:....this could never happen, you just have to get creative with the leftovers. One of my favorites is Butt Salad Sammiches, PP, diced apple, pecans, diced celery, mayo and a squirt of honey chuck it all in the food processor and pulse it a few times

I never get "tired" of pork. I might take a chicken, beef or seafood break occasionally but if I could only have one meat it would be pork.

I get tired of pork too. When I butcher a pig for the freezer, the meat seems to last forever. Not complaining though.. it's nice to have it. I just like beef better....and venison, and chicken...and fresh caught fish, and dove, quail, etc..

I need variety myself. Always mixing it up. Butt, brisket, beef short ribs, spares, chicken, sausage, fajitas etc. etc. Plus there's always all of those things vac sealed in the freezer, ready to go into a pot of water and reheat, whenever I have the urge to eat whatever.

I've been on a diet for 3 weeks now and I'd love to smoke a Butt this weekend, but it's not going to happen, I have 2 racks of spares in the freezer and I think next weekend they're getting smoked. Last Butt I smoked was with Chipotle in Adobo sauce and Dr Pepper, made for great Tacos.

Saw this and had to reply.
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!
Anymore.
Pork can be prepared so many different ways with so many different flavors.
Switch it up for a change. Be creative.

That's where a vacuum sealer comes in handy. Tastes just like it came off the smoker. It's just the Wife and me these days and I do not smoke another until it's all gone. In the meantime it's steaks, burgers, sausage and brisket. Oh and ribs.

I guess after being in the fridge, it changes on me and I want fresher pork. Since I had bariatric surgery in August (and lost 110 pounds), I cant eat a lot at one time and it just sits in there longer than it used to. Im not really SICK of it, because I love it when it comes right off the smoker...I guess I'm sick of warmed over pulled pork.

I'd say you have pigged out!
We do, too.
Get tired of chicken, also.
Rarely get tired of eating beef.
