• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I was bored and the weather was nice today so I decided to throw this tripod together. Will get a replacement weber grate so I can cook over the bonfire when camping as well. I'll put it to work next weekend with a nice Dutch Oven chowder over the fire.

what are the legs made of? emt conduit? and how are they attached at the top, to the chain?

EMT conduit. Connected by eye bolts JB welded in the top of each conduit. Will spray it all with high temp BBQ paint.

When I was in Germany, I'd go to the fests, and there was always someone using a grill like this. There were three or four chains attached to a circular grill grate and they would spin and rotate the grate. Picture the grate spinning in a circle and the also rotating around so the meat was evenly cooked. Schwenkbraten or Schwenksteaks (a fatty pork cutlet probably from the but area) was my favorite.

I can see some fine stew and chili coming up soon. I like it!

Just ordered a replacement 22.5" grate off amazon to hang from this as well. All in cost including grate $25.

It's gonna be about 70 again this weekend so too hot for a chowder. But I'm thinking BBQ chicken on the grate.
