• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I just ordered a Large Lonestar Grillz vertical smoker
I currently own a Stoker 2 wifi controller but do not have a blower to use for my new vertical smoker

So I have a couple options
Purchase a new blower to use on my Stocker 2
Or
Purchase a Digiq DX2 the cost between buying the blower for the Stoker 2 vs a new Digiq DX2 is between $80 to $100 difference

I do not care if I cannot control the Digiq DX2 from my phome

This smoker is supposed to keep its temps really well

Regardless of which solution I choose would you recommend the medium blower which is 10 cfm or the large blower which is 25 cfm ?

I have gotten many answers either way on the blower size needed

Please let me know your thoughts

You can run the large blower wide open to start with and then throttle it down with the gate valve when the pit comes to temp. The small blower will not give you the air volume to get the temp up quickly. It would probably work but...

I only know what I have read about the Stoker. It seems to me that although they work well they are not all that user friendly. The DigiQ on the other hand is totally user friendly and as dependable a controller as you can buy.

Thank you

Cheez thank you for the feedback
I was thinking of going with the Digiq dx2 just to keep things simple

Maybe some other brethren will chime in

This is pretty much spot on...Unless you use it all the time, you end up busting out the manual for a refresher course every time you want to use it. I've got an original Stoker, as well as a recently acquired wireless Stoker 2 (included with my BWS Party G2), and I still ordered a Guru...just received yesterday as a matter of fact. I like the idea of set it and forget it, BBQing should be easy.

I agree

Groundhog that is what I was thinking also

The blower motors for the stoker are pretty expensive

I guess I could just sell mine and get some money for it
