• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I was in Tom Thumb last night and found it. Scrounged around in the pile and found a nice Choice packer. YMMV.

Ty, Hall Johnson and 121....I haven't been to the one at Harwood and 121 yet.

It's good to be in beef country sometimes. Jorge, when I was up in Dallas for Memorial Day I was surprised at the brisket prices being so low. Much lower than Austin/Round Rock.

It's a difference in the amount of competition. HEB owns San Antonio. Austin is pretty much limited to Randall's/Tom Thumb, Albertson's(limited locations), and HEB which has become the 500 lb. gorilla. Fiesta doesn't count for me after my one experience buying meat there:wink: In DFW we have more options/competition.

May have to stop in. Leaving work at 2:00 today. Have to go pick up MRI images in Plano. Gonna try to stop in Hirsch's:biggrin: .

Need anything Jorge?

I'm good until I make the time to cook here at the house! Leaving for Houston in a little while.

Thanks for the tip, Jorge! Looks like a good weekend to smoke a couple of briskets!

I think I may have to hit a Tom Thumb or Kroger this weekend when I'm up there retrieving the final pieces of my new bandera.

Not quite that good here, but they are coming down finally. Select briskets at one store for 1.47 and CAB at another for 1.59:cool:

They had Jollypeno sausages marked down to $2.99/lb. So guess what I came home with?

Ty,

On your way home check in at the Sprouts market on Davis and 1709. They have some good looking sausage in the meat case. I'm going to try some this weekend. They also have trimmed Spare ribs for $ 1.77 a pound. Saw it in the ad wed. I stopped by on Tuesday on my way to 377, neat store.

I don't understand, sent my wife out to buy que meat for my vacation the week after next. She got everything except the brisket. Went to the 2 meat markets we trust and both were over $10/lb!!
I'll need to check it out this weekend- never know if she askeed the right questions.

Is it me or does this sound like something you really didn't want to know about?
