• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Damnt it

I've got an angus brisket in the fridge, all ready to go on the smoke....and I remembered that the contractor that is fixing the house from where the last smoker burned up is going to be using the electrical outlet in the morning...on the same breaker as the one I run the smoker on and I know for a fact it will trip the breaker. Brisket has to wait until tomorrow.

Sounds like dry aging to me.

Stick Burners Rule!!!!!!!!!!!
That's all I gotta say about that.

Maybe one of you could use an extension cord plugged in to another circut?

Electric smokers???? Extension cords???? Breakers????

My eyes are bleeding reading this thread

That's like Kraft cheese, doesn't come from a cow. Go figure

Hey hey hey! My EECB produces BBQ to die for. Ribs, turkeys, hams, and rib roasts, all sorts of animals have made their way over the electric heating element.

So put a bandage over your eyes and have some leftover smoked turkey...

By no means am I saying electric smokers DO NOT produce good Q.
I've never used one so I can't speak of quality. My point is it's non- traditional.:mrgreen:

The only outlet/breaker I need is for the lights...

Guess you can tell the smokers that I have...:mrgreen::mrgreen:

You need to find a flashlight :mrgreen:

I Dont need no stinking electricity!!! (well for bbq at least...)

Sounds like the perfect time and excuse to buy a WSM :-P...or build a UDS!

bdgr, don't let em get to you. This is how we teach here on the forum. Make smart arse comments until you learn the correct way of things. Its like legalized hazing.

Did that flashlight thing once on an all night smoke… The cops drove by, slammed on the breaks, and had me against the wall of my own house before I knew it:eek: Lights came out as they were getting back into the car…

Easy enough to solve, Try this method, I find it works very well.
Place a layer of ice on the bottom of an insulated cooler then carefully place glass bottles on ice until cardboard transfer system is empty then cover with more ice. using this method, I rarely need a beer fridge, saving that outlet for important things like tunes and lighting.
Good luck

Electric? Hmmm....well if nothin' else, this gives you an excuse to go buy a generator!
