• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Howdy y'all. I'm a long time reader, but first time poster. I am about to purchase a new offset smoker from Lone Star Grillz, and nd wanted to get some ideas from everybody for cool mods, customizations, and optional features. I'm already getting a 1/2 firebox with grill top, gas log lighter, guru port, probe holes, and tool hooks. But I'm sure there are a lot of other cool mods that I'm not even thinking of. Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

They offer custom metal work, have you looked at all the cool logos and whatnot? Seems like you are already getting the kitchen sink

LSG has a page that lists all of their traditionally offered mods. I loved the fold up SS table when I had mine. I am not sure if you can go off board and ask for wagon wheels or something else truly exotic. I am sure that Chris can do anything that you want (within reason). All you have to do is dream it up and ask him...

That's exactly my problem!!! I'm out of ideas!!! I'd love a little cover on the stack like Lang and Gator. That would be great in the rain. Also thinking about having them make a convection plate instead of tuning plates. HELP!!!

Custom metal art. I couldn't make up my mind what so I didn't on mine. Had to have been something special or mean something.

Ha ha. But seriously tho, any ideas that make the cooker more useful or the cooking go smoother? I actually like the pneumatic tire idea because it will make rolling the rig into the yard a lot easier.

Had Chris hook it up for me as well

Some of mods I did to help you

Ash tools rack ^^^

Beer bottle opener ^^^

Guru ports

Probe ports

Stay cool stainless handles on the smoke stack rods (more for looks)

Pull handle

Extra sausage hangers in the oven

Pull out ash tray

Charcoal basket

Folding/Collapsible front table

Drain valve

Extra Tel Tru for the main chamber

I thinks that's it :becky:

If you a going to move it around, a way to adjust level like a trailer nose jack.

Probe ports for sure. I will love my gas asset log lighter, but if you have a propane weed burner, you can skip that option.

Ask Chris for a couple of bolts that you can use to prop up the stack cover(s) so you can smoke when there is light rain.
