Craigslist Rocks Again!!!

I scored 2 (yes I typed 2) Large BGE's today off the Tampa listing.:biggrin:
1 has the long table and the other was just the cooker. Both have minor cracks to the firebox but that's to be expected. The only thing i need to do is buy 2 new lid hinges and new felt.
I couldn't be happier. I am going to refit the top of the table with new wood and lengthen the table by about 15". This will allow for a dual egg table mod and for me to justify buying a new circular saw & jigsaw. The old ones are cordless and have dead batteries. No more cordless tools. Never enough power.
2 eggs and 1 table for $400.
Good day I'd say.

Pictures to follow when table mods are done. Probably not till next weekend.
Looks like I will be putting off building a Double Barrel Big Smokey Drum cooker for a while.

If I want to use a temp controller to run both eggs and fans, which brand should I use?
Guru or Stoker.

I'm jealous. The only time an Egg showed up on the Chicago CL the guy wanted almost as much for it as they are brand new.

My Gawd! What a score! Congratulations!

One thing to remember and learn from my mistake, if you have the old style hinges and replace them with the spring assist bands, you will have to raise the bottom shelf @ 2" or raise the Eggs to accomadate the hinge pivot.
I used stepping stones on a modified BGE table. Just a heads up!

One of the eggs is an old school egg. Before they were green.
Got to figure out how to clean it and bring back the color. Any suggestions?

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the first one the night before. I was going to pick up the first one and checked CL before I left and saw the 2nd egg post, took a shot, called and got real lucky! Still pinching myself.

I missed on the offset.
I think my wife will divorce me if I bring another grill home.
I really want to build a double barrel smokey joe drum setup but I doubt I will ever use it now.
It will be at least a week before I'm done with this table redo. Too much life going on and it seems to be getting in the way of my meat smoking addiction.
I can't wait to fire these puppies up.
