• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I've seen some of you doing corn bread in your cookers. I think I recall Q_Egg using a skillet on his BGE. Anyone do cornbread in larger batches in aluminum pans?

I'm no expert by any means but I wonder if the open aluminum pan would be able to conduct the heat evenly and adequately enough to cook cornbread? I've always either used a cast iron skillet or a heavy aluminum cupcake pan. Also when cooking it at home in the oven I've also used corning ware or pyrex type dishes. I've never done any in my cooker, only over open fires when camping or at home in the oven.

Todd,
I do cornbread in large batches butI have heavy alum. Steam pans (not Foil pans)...I use the 2in. deep full sized pans and they work great.

Yeah - what he said. Justin Wilson always used pans for his CB.

Thanks, guys. I might try a half pan (aluminium) and see how it turns out. Figured I might have to go to the steel steam pans.

My mom makes cornbread all the time in your standard 9x12 cake pan. You dont get the crispy bottom like you do in a cast iron skillet.
