• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I was at my local Northern Tool & Equipment store and scored a really neat LED head lamp. I have posted a link to something similar. The one in the link is a Brinkman for $17, the one I bought was Northern's own brand for $6.00. It is bright, handy, and has a neat bright white/bluish tint light. I was firing up the Bandera this morning for a brisket, pork butt, two racks of ribs and three different kinds of fatties (my first), and was able to work completely in the dark with no problems and both my hands were free.

For $6 you can't beat it!!

Remember, this is similar, Northern has their own brand, I can't seem to find it on their website.

I've got several head lights, use them when hunting like finding my way to the stand before dawn. The best one I have is a small one that clips on the bill of my cap. They all work great and I've used them many a night while Q'ing.

Ive got one made by Princeton Tek. Those things are the cats ass. I used to use it for hiking (read: around the campsite). They put out a nice wide beam.

I have a similar one that I received as a Christmas present. It has three different beams. One is green (I guees for better night vision?), one is bright blue-ish like halogen headlamps on a car and the other looks like a normal flashlight. It works great. I used it last night when I went to the cooker to bring in the fatties!

I thought it, but I was'nt gonna say it!! But since you said it b/4 me...I can't see much anyway so I really don't know if that would help. Scuba gear would be more handy...you know the kind you can breath through your nose with....thos lights are neater than a skeeter's you know what....come in real handy.

Sorry for the hijack. I'll stop now.
