• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I used to have a BGE XL and used it for a couple of years and now I have the Weber Summit Charcoal Grill. So for the last 5 months, I get asked every week about the differences between the 2 and if the Summit is worth the money.

I thought what I would do is just make a video about it and explain some of the differences and whats better about each. I tried to be pretty even-handed and I hope that comes across in the video. I hope you guys find it useful (and funny in parts. lol).

A very fair review.

I'm a BGE owner and some of the other BGE owners tend to be rabid in the BGE is the "end all, be all" cooker.

Beside the price point, the Summit looks like a pretty solid cooker.

GREAT video BBM!

Your pros on the Summit is exactly why I bought mine when they came out. Same money as the BGE XL, but superior movability, portability, and no ceramic to crack. One thing that you forgot to mention is the Summit is made in the US, I know that's not a big deal to some but to others it is, was to me.

Thanks man. Yeah, there were a lot of things I left out for the sake of keeping it shorter. I was also trying to present everything in an even-handed fashion.

Ha! Seen some vids of yours before but didn't think about you being here on the forums.

Good vids!

Another informative and funny video. And I would say it was very even handed. I think you gestured with your left hand about the same number of times as with your right!

Keep up the great work!

LOL. I know, right? You never really notice stuff your non-verbal cues until you put yourself on camera.

But that's just your style! Don't change anything about your delivery, then it wouldn't be you.

P.S. I hope you add a Pit Barrel Cooker to your arsenal some day. Would love to see you do a video on that!

I'd love to see that too! That's one of the cookers I have not had that I would love to experience some day. I'd also like to add an offset to the arsenal at some point.

Great video!

Regarding your question about what I would like to se you do, I would love to see you do more cooking on the WSCG. Not just BBQ, but pizza, pies, and other things that take advantage of the versatility of the WSCG

Thanks wbzipf,
That is BY FAR the most common answer I got so I will be incorporating more videos like that into the channel going forward. Hopefully starting this week.
