Competition rib source instead of rest depot? For butts and ribs. Looking for a better grade, thoughts?
We were getting ours from Costco, but I was not impressed with the last few packs we got. We have switched to getting them from a restaurant supplier that packs them in single packs. We have another team/friend of ours who owns a restaurant, so we are able to get them through him.
That local grocery store is the best!!!although, they didn't have St. Louis the last time I went.

Different brands of ribs cook differently. I chalk this up to different genetics from the different large scale operations that commodity ribs come from. Also whether or not they are "enhanced". For the record, I like cooking enhanced ribs. What cooks well for one person might not for the other depending on all of the variables of what your method of cooking is. If you are not happy with your current source, the best thing you can do is search out what sources you have available to you and cook them all a few times to see which ones turn out the best for you. I had to do this last spring myself due to the place I was getting my ribs from went out of business.
We sell hand selected competition grade ribs and butts from brands such as Compart Duroc, Prairie Fresh (Seaboard), and Hatfield. Competition qualities for ribs we look for include straight bones, meatiness and uniformity. We ship all around the country. Please give me (Johnny Love) a call at 646-208-7712 or check our website, http://www.huntspoint.com. Our meats have won World Championships and countless state championships. We work with some of the top pitmasters and competition teams in the USA.
Would like to try some of your stuff but your shipping price is ridiculous
My wife does most of our grocery shopping, and she makes the long drive up there for the good stuff. I'll have her check for ribs this weekend.
