• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Competition rib source instead of rest depot? For butts and ribs. Looking for a better grade, thoughts?

We were getting ours from Costco, but I was not impressed with the last few packs we got. We have switched to getting them from a restaurant supplier that packs them in single packs. We have another team/friend of ours who owns a restaurant, so we are able to get them through him.

Look for places that sell Seabord farms ribs RD near me has them, and I haven't found a better commodity pork product

Do you mind me asking what brand you're getting in single packs?

We have a local grocery store that carries Farmland spares in singly cryo packs. They are not enhanced, which is rare around here. We've done well with them.

the Spares that I cooked a week or so ago were from Costco and they were fine, but I usually cook 4 racks and they come in a three pack.

That local grocery store is the best!!! ;) although, they didn't have St. Louis the last time I went.

I haven't looked in a while! I hope that's not permanent!

My wife does most of our grocery shopping, and she makes the long drive up there for the good stuff. I'll have her check for ribs this weekend.

Different brands of ribs cook differently. I chalk this up to different genetics from the different large scale operations that commodity ribs come from. Also whether or not they are "enhanced". For the record, I like cooking enhanced ribs. What cooks well for one person might not for the other depending on all of the variables of what your method of cooking is. If you are not happy with your current source, the best thing you can do is search out what sources you have available to you and cook them all a few times to see which ones turn out the best for you. I had to do this last spring myself due to the place I was getting my ribs from went out of business.

I agree. I get my ribs from Meijer. They aren't enhanced, but they're no specialty breed either. I've had decent scores with them so I stick to them.

My preference is enhanced I believe that the last 2 KCBS TOY in Ribs both used enhanced. The main reason I like using enhanced is no injection is needed.

The BJ's near me alternates between swift and Prairie Fresh pork and the Prairie Fresh price is significantly lower than what I've found online. I've had good luck with both brands.

Would like to try some of your stuff but your shipping price is ridiculous

That store had Smithfield spare ribs today. And gas was 28 cents cheaper than everyone else!
