Has anyone used coconut palm in their smokers? I overheard a BGE owner talking about both wood and lump. Also, has this been used in competition? Also, what about date palm?

xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I have not used it, but have read some stuff, and talked to a couple of BGE users who use it regurlarly, in charcoal form. I think it comes from Southeast Asia: it is supposed to burn clean and last a long time.

I've used coconut husks and shells for grilling. That's how they do it back in the "islands." Usually, an old refrigerator is the container and the racks are the grills. I shiite you not.
