• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Looking at the last ingredient, should this be in wood pile?

I will go to my room now, without having to be asked...

That.............looks....................simply.........................Awful

I dont think a 100mg Lipitor would put a dent in lamb brain numbers.

Steve,

Alot of people eat chicken during a diet because the high amount of protein and the low amount of calories. Neither of these numbers reflect on Cholesterol content.

My cholesterol is about 285 and I need to get that down.(I just stuffed ANOTHER pulled pork sammich from Willi B's down my throat). I have been going to the gym and doing cardio but I need to change my diet.

Since this is the q-talk forum, I'll be serious for a change.

To begin with, don't eat so much. And use meat more as an ingredient than a meal.

Smoking renders out the fat and you need 40 grams/day of protein.. Skinning your chicken before you smoke it will help further reduce fat. And fat is where most of the chemical end up.

Then shread it, put it in a pot with some flavorful moisture (I use salsa juice) and let it steam a little.

Then put it in a soft corn or whole wheat tortilla (complex carbs) with lots of fresh lettuce, tomatos, cliantro, salsa or hot sauce and a little sprinkling of shredded cheese.

That's a gourmet taco and about as balanced a meal there is on an edible plate.

I do similar stuff (different veggies) with pork, beef and chicken stir fry. Lotsa fiber and that changes your whole metabolisim.

PS: Have 1 really good beer to go with it.

Maybe we need a forum for healthy BBQ recipes.

Now that's an oxymoron!:-D If I want healthy I eat salad and boneless-skinless chicken.

I want flavor and texture - flavor implies FAT and texture implies well cooked primal cuts of meat.

Your mileage may vary!

It's not a oxymoron. Slow & low is a relatively healthful way to get your 40 grams of protein. Fat doesn't tase good either and it implies a mess I have to clean up in and/or under my smoker. So I remove most of it beforehand.

Since I don't know what a "primal" cut of meat is I won't even try to rebut that one.

We both got diabetes. I'm controlling mine through diet. How about you?

I've also got the equivalent of about 1/4 of a normal liver. Fat is bad for people like me as it can accumulate in your liver, causing it to be less efficient. I think its called fatty liver disease.

Remind me to never apply ANY levity to a discussion in one of Mark's SERIOUS threads.

Sorry Mark - didn't mean to give you a wedgie.
