Made a big pot of chili yesterday afternoon. I used 3# of ground chuck as I had no left over brisket on hand.
I added the normal ingredients tomatoes, Brooks chili beans, onions and spices.

Tasted ok, but I promise you using left over brisket in chili makes one huge difference not only in taste but texture as well.

Going to get a brisket very soon.

Chile

I've found that if you was to grind the brisket then put it in the mix it give a harder texture I'm not to fond of the stringy texture you get with pulled beef, maybe next time smoke up a Maple phatty and throw that into the mix.....I'm just partcial to Jimmy Dean Maple sausage...

Oh well, Chili is like sex. No such thing as bad chili.

I made a pot last week where I smoked a top round to 135 for roast beef sammys and used half of that, just cubed up, in the chili. Came out farking amazing.

BBQBull last week I made chili with left over smoked rib trimmings and it was really good. There is something about the added flavor of the smoked meat that seems to make the peppers jump up and shout out loud. Few weeks ago made it with left over smoked chuckies same thing it turned out real good but the texture was very different from the rib trimmings. The only bad chilie I ever made was when I cooked it while being over served adult beverages by the Bartender, and I some how used cinommon sp:eek: instead of the chilie powder (next to each other in the spice rack) once the smell hit me tried to correct with the chilie powder. I can tell you this that sucked. Garbage can mod and the cinemmon was forever moved to another cabinet:lol:

Wife took left over Tri Tip and Carrol Shelby chili mix. Wooped up some fine grub.

Big mista and Txschutte, try a little cinammion in it. That is bad. First hand experience Mod:icon_blush:

Just takes a pinch of cinnamon....a little goes a very long way.

Me too. At the same time.

That's what SHE said.

After a day of eating 3 alarm chili, the biggest disappointment belongs to my family for having to stay in the same room with me. :icon_smil There may be a hole in the ozone above our house. Whew!

I would be dissapointed as well if I had accidentally put beans in my chili like you did.
