Now that the gift giving season is unofficially under way, I have a couple of questions about equipment ideas for my BIL.
First, does anoyone have any ideas for charcoal pans/rings to use with a Dutch oven? He made an apple dessert in a Dutch oven yesterday and it was terrific, but he had a hard time getting the charcoal under the pot to stay lit. I'm thinking surely someone makes a pan that would provide air flow to keep the coals lit for use with a Dutch oven. Any ideas?
Second, he mentioned someone he used to camp with had a metal water reservoir that was divided in the middle for camping. The idea was that you filled it with water and put it in/next to the fire and you had hot water all weekend as long as the fire stays lit. To get hot water out, you simply pour cold water in one side, which pushes hot water out a spout on the opposite side. Anyone know where to find something like this or what it would even be called?
