• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

I was just at our local Farm & Fleet store. When I strolled through the outdoor section, I noticed boxes of Charbroil Lump Charcoal. There was one box open, and the pieces looked to be of decent size. Some of the chunks were pretty dense, and there was difficult to read text on the side of the box indicating it's a South American lump.
Price was a little steep though at about $13 for a 15 lb box.
Anyone tried this, and is it any good?

Going to look at the Naked Whiz now to see if they have rated it.

I have seen the South American variety, I decided to just stick with Cowboy and Royal Oak which are proven products and are definitely cheaper.

That would have to be a special charcoal for me to pay that much for it... It would have to regulate the cooking temperature all by itself!

Wicked Good Lump uses South American Hardwood & it is a great product, I have several bags in my garage. It is also a bit pricey $11.99 for an 11 lb. bag, but it burns forever. The nice thing with wicked good is it is very neutral so you can add the smoke flavor with the other wood you add, so if the char-broil is at all similar that is nice. Pick up a box & try it out.

Right now I'm on a Rancher kick and if it goes on sale again over the 4th of July for $2.99 a bag like I've heard rumored I'll be adding to my collection.
