Will a char broil lid fit on a 55gallon uds with or without mods? grillparts.com has them for 43.99. Thanks for any reply

xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

You need to find a lid and a barrel to test fit because no two fit the same. I used a charbroil lid on my first uds and it fit differently on three different barrels. I wound up doing the mod where you bolt or rivet in a piece of flat bar inside the lip of the barrel so the lid would fit.
If you don't already have a barrel, I would order the lid and then take it to test fit on the barrel before you buy it.

I picked up walmart s 22in grill for mine. Had to take pliers and flattened out the lip. Then I used Rtv sealant for a seal. Works well, goes out about an hour after I shut it down.
