Where do I call to ask why my CB is chipping like no ones bussiness?

OK... I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm going to suggest...

The manufacturer?

Do i win a prize? :-D

Thanks gang.

By the way Cb company doesn't have an actual phonbe number, they have a comment box.

Hell if it doesn't harm my bbq then I'm not going to worry one bit...

Thank you again gang..

Everyone has a phone number. It may not be on their web site, but I bet it is on the paperwork that you received with the kit. If I spent $200 on something and the paint was chipping off after a week, and I hadn't done anything to cause it, I'd be all over them, regardless if it is a smoker or a car.

Agreed, if you pay 200 for a ring, you reserve the right to want the paint to stay on it...

There is no paint on a Cajun Bandit ring... I think they're aluminum... mine is. I'd bet Derek didn't spring for the ring, modified his Weber, and is now paying the price.

I've got to do it...I just have to...

I know some of you are thinking it...

So I'm going to risk the wrath of the Great One...

Chris is very good at returning calls if you leave a return phone # in the contact us link.

Mine developed some rust in areas where there is metal to metal contact-its bound to happen. I use it for comp cooking and it has racked up some miles. I gotta remind myself sometimes that they are cookers and not hood ornaments that always need polishing. Take a look at the pics of mine when it was new out of the box and what it looks like now-I use the hell outta my Cajun Bandit and the paint has faded a bit, but guess what? So have my drum smokers!

I looked it up... it's 18 gauge stainless steel. What's to rust, or chip?

This thread is like the "how to clean my Weber" thread. It went 3 pages before I pointed out that the Weber Silver doesn't have one-touch cleaning.

I don't think anyone would care, except threads like these use up needed bandwidth and space, and people who really need help suffer.

When the CB was dicussed with Derek, it was the rotisserie he wanted. That's the only thing that could chip paint, eh?

You're right, photos would help.

that thing looks like its porclein coated?? Like a WSM or kettle. ???

if it is.., and its flaking on the inside.. that may not be paint chipping, but creosote like substance.. kettle and WSM lids are notorious for it.. a black flaky stuff builds up and flakes off. Looks liek paint, but it aint.

It is the Cajun Bandit kit that is meant to allow a kettle to function as a bullet smoker. Without seeing the actual chips, it is very difficult to shoot in the dark. But, SwamprB has it right, email them from the website and give them a chance to figure out what is happening Derek.

Not trying to start anything, but in the name of "wasting bandwidth" I think that's pretty much a moot point when there's tons of posts out there that aren't even asking for advice, they're just out there for the sake of "Look what I can do/did" and I LOVE those posts. Also the fact that there's a section called "The Wood Pile" where whatever random crap you can think of goes, this isn't an advice column, or some amateur counseling group for BBQ.. it's a place to shoot the sh*t and have fun.

Might be an off the wall question, but there's no reason to assume what's going on.
Same goes for the "post count raising."
Everyone who takes pictures of their BBQ and makes a post about it is doing exactly that.. nothing wrong in it.. I thought that's what this place was for.

And again, not trying to start anything.. just putting my opinion out there.
I don't know if any of this was meant jokingly, I know a lot is lost in text in place of words.

Anyway, back to the grill. Que on hookers!

I think Derek is just upping his post count.
Please don't take this rudely or any other way bro.

But that's not me, I would never dot hat. and it's kind of wrong to accuse someone of doing something when he/she didn't show on here all week.

And guys Chris, from CB is sending me another unit.
