• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Kinda getting tired of pulling my butt. What temperature is good for slicing??

How about chopping instead of pulling? Considered doing this a few times, But I personally love the feeling of pulling a pork butt. Love watching it just all fall apart with little effort.

Hmmm....what temperature for chopping?

I do have a couple pork loins but I also have several butts.

The last sliced butt I did, I cooked to 185. It was to tender, would just fall apart when I tried to slice. I think next time I'm going to pull at 170.

Well your asking the wrong guy for one! but I'm with CoS on this one. 170-180ish.

If you want slices of pork how about using loin instead? Mop it with brow sugar and whiskey mix, cook to 140*
I totally agree with this. I've never had much success with loins until I realized that 140° is the sweet spot. I did one last September and oh my. Sliced it for dinner hot then put it in the fridge and sliced it for cold sandwiches. Unbelievable!
