• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

4th of July prices in Houston:

HEB - .55

Fiesta .57

That might be low enough to consider FedEx shipments.

May have to get up Sunday and do something about this.

Gee. Those poor folks at HEB and Fiesta seem to have an overstock
problem.

The neighborly thing to do would be to buy a couple to help them out,
you know, in their time of need.

They do contribute so much to the community. Think I'll get about 6 for the freezer. I'm sure that it is nothing but those nasty old packer cuts with all of that fat too.

Crap! Send me about 200# -- NOW.
I'm gonna have to spring for $2.15 per pound on Friday!!

I think the freezer would quickly become FULL. We hit a holiday here and they either put it "on sale" for around 2 cents less or they jack the price up. Kinda like gas prices.

Farkers

Kroger & Tom Thumb got Excel packer trim briskets for 99 cents/lb in the DFW area. grabbed two today at Kroger.

Good point. Best posted price is $0.55/Lb. and the high is almost $1. Having been conditioned for $0.49/Lb. it might be time for us to boycot such flagrant price gouging. Anybody have the # for the state AG's office? Hope you other brothers will feel out pain and support any grass roots movement that may come of this.

You all SUCK! Cheapest brisket I can find here in SoCal are some flats for $2.69/lb.

*Checking FedEx Rates*

I feel your pain! :D

I lived in San Antonio for 9 years -- we used to stock up every holiday and buy at least 2-3 packers to go in the freezer. Always looked for the ads in the Express News to see who had brisket on sale, best price, and what limits -- we've been known to stand in line seperately each with two briskets in the basket -- sometimes not even a basket -- just standing there with the cryovacs :D

Then there is the $10 additional purchase thing they do from time to time. This week HEB has all of their pre-marinaded fajita meat featured. Buy the big bag of beef, chicken, or pork ready to grill and you get a choice of two cast iron skillets, or a cast iron fajita platter. Can't wait to try to get all of that crap into our bags for the flight home Tues. morning, or what it will look like when it gets scanned at the airport.

David,

Great plot - it is limit two - guess it is a family trip to the market  I can just see it 4 people in the quick check lane with two cyropaks and nothing else

That would be funny for my family.

5 year old with 2 briskets and a $20.

It has been known to happen!

And the $10 additional purchase was never a problem -- some sausage, chicken, whatever was just the thing!!

The skillet will proably be confiscated as a "blunt weapon" :D
