• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

That's the decorative pear right? It's not fruitbearing so I don't know if it can be used. There's some links around here that have a pretty exhaustive list of usable woods. If I can find one I'll edit it into this.

[Editted to add] There's a file in the misc files folder under the files section that lists usable woods. It's the last one listed. However the files section is broken so you can't get to it right now.

You hear that Phil...the files section is BROKEN. Geez what have you been doing up there all weekend. Goofing off or sumptin?

I use Bradford pear all the time for pork & poultry.

Yes Neil it is a decorative tree, but info says that it bears fruit.....just not edible....but don't tell the squirrels that! Thanks for the help.

Brian/bowtyracr8----the BUD boys sure blew it yesterday----4 TIRES! BOYS... TIRES!!!.

Hey Mark thanks for the info.....took some low branches down before the storm on Thurs and didn't want to WASTE it

It bears fruit - the size of a small marble. Squirrel feed. Never tried it - the stuff is all over the place out here

That blew right over me head

take some wood to Cali, and some seeds to plant

Gonna have to try seeds cuz the farking movers already said that taking the wood is a "no-no". So what the fark is wood furniture - a no-no too? And I have a $hitload of hickory, red oak and cherry (not to mention 192#'s of Kingsford).

When do you need to be packed up? Have a friend leaving Norfolk for Coronado pretty soon, doing his own move.

Load it in a truck and move it yourself. To save fuel you can drop off the cherry at my house! Anything to help a Brother. :P
