Going to try a prime ribeye roast next weekend. Costco carries some good prime but it's bone out. Any thoughts? Will bone in make a big difference? It's very well marbled prime beef

Thanks

It's a matter of choice...

I get bone-in because I think it adds flavor. I also like to use the bones for soup the next day. Any well marbled rib roast will be awesome..

Mine had the bones removed and tied up so i cut the string...seasoned inside where it was cut and tied it back up. I figure might as well take advantage of them out.

I remove the bone because it takes away the crust on an entire face of the roast.
I cook the ribs beside it and its my special treat.

I prefer bone-on, but the difference in price is not much difference per pound, so I tend to get bone-off. I hate paying $9 per pound for bones.

I have only cooked the Costco boneless roasts and they turn out just fine every time. As others have said, it is good to have bark and smoke ring all the way around.

I prefer bone-on, but I'll take a better piece of meat over the bone if that's the choice.

very pleased with boneless.

have done bone in, but cut them out prior to cooking, so like gore said, why pay $9/lb for bones?
