• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

Just a couple pics to show the Vortex can do more than just wings...

Placed some bricks around the V to rest my CI pan on...
Wanted some space between the pan and the afterburner temps of the Vortex...


Steaks are rubbed with my wife's "Crazed Cajun" rub and into the pan...
Pan is running in the 700 degree range...:thumb:



About 3 minutes per side and they are blackened just fine...
The air is unbreathable from the hot peppers in the rub...
That's why we cook em outside...


Cut open to see that they are nicely done to my liking...

Rolls were warmed around the V while the steaks rested...

That much heat can be a bit rough on the CI but it seasons right back up...

I love to see true blackening. Not the blackening spices and cooked the traditional way. True blackening makes food black.

Great looking steaks, man. That CI really seems to be the trick for good blackened proteins.

I'm sure momma's Crazed Cajun sure doesn't hurt the cause, neither.
