• xenforo has sucessfully updated our forum software last night. Howevr, that has returned many templates to stock formats which MAY be missing some previous functionality. It has also fixed some boroken templates Ive taken offline. Reat assured, we are working on getting our templates back to normal, but will take a few days. Im working top down, so best bet is to stick with the default templates as I work thru them.

BJ's Pork Shoulder Butts on Sale $.99 per pound

I have two eight pounders in the freezer. Saw them on sale for .99/lb at our local supermarket a week or so ago. I wasn't expecting to buy any but immediately grabbed the two nicest ones out of the refrigerator case.

In case someone has an interest.....

Stopped at BJ's today to pick up a few items and saw Pork Shoulder Butts on Sale $.99 per pound. Last week they were $1.49 per pound. Still have sell by dates well over 2 weeks away.

Thanks MadMan, i know where I'll be stopping today!

Who is B J's? where are they? I live in South Dakota do you think that this info is relevant to me? It is only significant to people in your neighborhood. I do not understand this post on a nationwide website.

Post on how you cook them, now that is important and relevant. even in SD.

I don't know how you think this is only significant to my neighborhood? BJ's currently operates over 200 Stores in 15 states, and is constantly expanding to other areas.

Just because you don't think the post is relevant to you, doesn't mean it isn't relevant to the other 70,592 Brethren Members, many who live in those 15 other states. We are proud to have 70,592 Members, and 1547 of them are currently online as I type this message.

We all share sales data to help each other when we can, and yes even if it is regional.

i live up in Mass and shop at my BJ's every week . If it's not relevant to you ....... nevermind . my comments to you would not be in the best interests of this forum so i'll refrain from insulting you back .

Thanx IMM i'll check them out this weekend :)

I wish I saw this sooner. Just did the weekly stop on the way home.

FWIW my parents are from SD and moved back 10 years ago. Move to Sioux Falls if you want modernization.

Are you kidding me? Go ahead and go to bed and wake up on the other side of the bed tomorrow. Clearly the side you woke up on this morning is not working for you.

I think some of us share the same thoughts, but lets continue to conduct ourselves like true Brethren here in the forum and not have a moderator step in to regulate this thread.

I want BJ's to come into our neighborhood. :(

I always see the great sales you guys are talking about.

I can't get that good of a deal here. So smoke some pork for me and remember tell your local stores we want them in PA.

Wish we had this chain around here. I just checked my local Frys flier and they have pork shoulder on sale for $1.69/lb. :/

Looks like your closest store is about 80 miles in North Canton, Ohio.

Now I realize how fortunate I am to have 5 BJ's and 3 Costco stores surrounding me, all within a 25 mile radius.

Just checked our local Sam's club and it's $1.89 lb.

:(

I guess I touched a nerve here because I did not know BJ's Market. Still don't. I was not trying to be offensive, simply factual. To those offended I apologize sincerely. Forums are places to exchange information.

I don't think you touched a nerve with anyone because you did not know what BJ's Wholesale Club was... I think it was more of the pious attitude when you said "Who is B J's? where are they? I live in South Dakota do you think that this info is relevant to me? It is only significant to people in your neighborhood. I do not understand this post on a nationwide website."

Simply put there are 70,592 members in the BBQ-Brethren, each and every one of us are just one individual member, not every post is going to interest or help every one of our members. We all have topics that interest us and many topics that do not. But rather than rant about something that doesn't interest us as individuals, we simply move on to another thread of interest or another forum.

We all have many various types of cookers as a collective whole, and if we whined because someone posted about their smoker that wasn't relevant to our usage, the forums would be full of messages like yours completely counter-productive to our goal of helping each other.

I was not trying to be offensive, simply factual. To those offended I apologize sincerely. Forums are places to exchange information.

Yes forums are a place to exchange information and that was the purpose of this post. Many people take advantage of sales that they may not know about. You will find that our Brethren in Texas will post Brisket sales prices there all the time, no one complains that it isn't relevant to them in their are, because if it helps a single Brethren it severed it's purpose.

You will find as you spend time in the forums that threads with little interest to the Brethren will basically have no responses and they just disappear as they move to the end.

There is no need to apologize, just read and reply to your personal interests and what doesn't interest just move on to another post of interest. Remember we are a group of 70,592 and the forums do not rotate around any single individual person.

As a new member we all welcome you to the BBQ-Brethren, Common Sense, Courtesy, and Mutual Respect for one another will take you further in your quest for information than abrasive types of posts will.

I think you are a little over the top here too. I am not a rookie either at BBQ or posting. I am 76 years old and have been cooking BBQ a long time. You ate not entitled to lecture me. I do not believe I was arrogant or offensive. You can put your superiority where the sun don't shine.

I stopped by B.J.'s today and was excited to see a sign over the pork butts that said "special price" but disappointed when they were $1.39 lb.. Oh well, but thanks for the heads up!
